The ABA is the fastest growing men's adult baseball league in NJ! We opened spring 2008 with 76 teams along with 3 wood bat skill levels (30 wood teams) in addition to our multiple metal divisions.

Our 2008 ABA All Star Games & Home Run Derby will all be held at Veterans Memorial Field Complex in Linden on Saturday, June 21st

There will be food & drink items for $1 as well as some free food items for fans & players. I will send more details soon.

Amateur Baseball Association, Inc. is a recreational baseball league originating in New Jersey. We had 122 teams in our 200 Spring/Summer/Fall seasons.

Baseball players, teams, and managers are all welcome. If you love playing baseball and are 18 years of age or older, this is the league for you. All skill levels and all positions are welcome. Metal and/or wood bats may be used as we have metal only as well as wood only divisisions. We are a weekend league that plays primarily on Sundays but there may be Saturday and weeknight games due to weather or field availability. Teams in each state will play in regional divisions. We are not affiliated with any other baseball league.

We at ABA, Inc. pride ourselves on customer service. We will always return all phone calls and emails within 24 hrs of receipt. We are active participants in the league and we will be accessible for all questions and/or comments. Our league officers play on teams in the league and we are advocates for fair play. We are focused on managers’ and players’ baseball needs and it is our mission to improve the quality of baseball life and services for all involved. Teams:
We have an incentive based fee schedule for teams. In the past we have played in leagues where teams with a home field have had to pay the same fee as teams who didn’t have one. So teams with home fields were penalized because they had to pay the league fee and permit fees. We thought that wasn’t very fair. So we have 2 different fees, one if you have a field and one if you don’t. Team league fees also include 7dz game baseballs for Spring season or 3dz for Summer & Fall seasons, field insurance, and unlimited rosters. Umpire fees are NOT included in the team league fee. Please contact the league for payment schedule. Payment installments are accepted.

Individual Players:
As an individual player joining the league we will either place you with an existing team or create a new team by combining other individual players. If you have friends that also want to join and play on the same team as you, we can combine all of you into a 'package' and place your 'package' on the same team. Our individual player fee is $160 per player for the Spring season and $80 for Summer or Fall seasons. Umpire fees are not included in the individual player fee.

**However, if you have a home field that a new team can use, we can build a new team around you and you will get the individual player fee reimbursed to you as a thank you for the use of the field.
**If you have a field that the league can use, we will reimburse you the individual player fee for every year that the league uses the field.
**If you are a team that has been created by combining individual players and you have a home field, we will refund the Spring w/o home field fee difference ($400) to the manager for team use or we can purchase team equipment (helmets, pro bases, catcher’s gear, and a bag to carry it all).

ABA, Inc. Season Information:
Spring Season:
April - July with August Playoffs
The league offers a 20 game schedule.

Summer Season:
June – July with August Playoffs
The league offers a 10 game schedule.

Fall Season:
September – October with October-November Playoffs
The league offers a 10 game schedule.

Misc:
Uniforms are the individual player’s or the team’s responsibility. This is usually a one-time expense as players tend to stay with 1 team their whole career. Teams must purchase their own equipment such as helmets, bases, and catcher’s gear. Each player, coach, and manager must sign a waiver before they will be allowed to participate in any games, practices, and activities. Due to lack of fields, the league cannot guarantee a team or a player who does not have a field a spot in the league. However, most players and teams will be accepted and we will try our best to find a spot in the league for all applicants as well as secure enough fields for play.
Players may choose to play in more than one season in any given year. There will be separate season fees charged. Players may also choose to play on several teams in any one season. However, there will be a league fee charged to the player per each team the player chooses to play on. Also, there may be league rules that can be applied to a player playing for several different teams in one season to allow for fair play. All registration fees are nonrefundable once the season begins.

If you can acquire a field for the ABA to use as a league field we will reduce your team fee by $100.
